Million Paws Walk 2006

Today we took the boys to the Million Paws Walk, which raises money for the RSPCA. It was held in Rymill Park, Adelaide, and was a great day out.

John and I went with Darren and Sarah, and Sarah's parents, with 5 dogs in total. We were a bit unsure about the weather to start with, but it turned out to be a beautiful day. The dogs were a bit crazy to begin with (with thousands of dogs turning up), but by the end of the 5km walk, they had all quietened down quite a bit.

After the walk, we all trooped back to Darren and Sarah's place for lunch, just before the rain started.

All in all, a great (although tiring) day out!

It's the Weekend!

Yay! Been an eventful week this week. John's nana passed away on Monday morning, after being unwell for a long time. I attended my first "Springboard" workshop on Monday, which was fascinating. I dislocated my finger on Tuesday at volleyball training, and spent half the evening in hospital with John waiting for them to put it back in place. Thursday we flew to Melbourne for John's nana's funeral. Whilst it was another sad day, it was good to catch up with his family again. Then flew back to Adelaide Thursday evening. So we are both looking forward to a quiet weekend.

It was great to hear from some of you again, after such a long time! A special congratulations to Paul and Jo (for getting engaged) and Anna, I hear you're getting married this weekend! I expect to get some photos :o)

Hello and welcome to our first blog!

A place where we can share with you all the exciting (and not so exciting) things happening in our lives.

The main reason I've set this up was so I was able to leave a comment for Lian and Laurent... but seeing as it set up an account for me, I figured 'what the hell... may as well try it out'. Unfortunately for you, not much really happens in our lives so the news will no doubt be more boring than exciting.

I guess I could start out by updating you on what's been happening in our lives.

John and I went to New Zealand in February, which was amazing. It's hard to believe that it's so close to Australia, because it is so completely different. Although we only did the South Island this time, it was an amazing trip, and we can't wait to go back. We would both love to live there!

As some of you may know, John and I have also bought a block of land where we are about to start building. I say 'about to' in the loosest sense, as it's already been 6 months since signing the contract and the building STILL hasn't started... so who knows when it will be done.

Sam and Charlie are both doing well. Sam has gained his Trained Dog Certificate,
and is now doing trialling classes - although you wouldn't know it at the moment. Since we got Charlie, it's pretty much been downhill.

Charlie has just started his puppy classes, and seems to be doing well so far (although it's hard to tell after just one class). Just when we think he's learning something, he goes backwards again. The joys of puppies I guess.

I will include some photos of the boys and New Zealand for you in another post. Thanks for visiting!
